The tool of speaking in tongues, is the best tool for personal edification. The easiest tool to implement, and the most beneficial. Tongues is also the least understood. Learn the truth about tongues.
Applicable Scripture:
Speaking in Tongues: In these scriptures below, I have left out the scriptures of corporate tongues and known languages of men. Such as Acts 2:4
Mark 16:17
“And these signs will accompany those who believe: in my name they
will cast out demons; they will speak in new tongues.”
(Notice New Tongues not in a language known to
man.)
1 Corinthians
14:2
For one who speaks in a tongue speaks not to men but to
God; for no one understands him, but he utters mysteries in the
Spirit.
1 Corinthians
14:23
If, therefore, the whole church comes together and all speak
in tongues, and outsiders or unbelievers enter, will they
not say that you are out of your minds?
(If Paul was referencing a known human language, he would not of stated that the person would think them out of their minds).
1 Corinthians
13:1
If
I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I
am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. (Two completely
different types of tongues.)

For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays but my mind is
unfruitful.
(Tongues by-passes carnal knowledge)

thank God that I speak in tongues more than all of you.

Nevertheless, in church I would rather speak five words with
my mind in order to instruct others, than ten thousand words in a
tongue. (If tongues were simply another human language, and
not through the Holy Spirit it would still be through the
mind.)
1 Corinthians
14:4
The one who speaks in a tongue builds up himself, but the one
who prophesies builds up the church. (This statement would
be completely unneeded if tongues only referred to a human
language)
